Course Description
This one day course gives you an overview of the Ministry of Defence’s Architectural Framework , MODAF, defining key terms and concepts as embodied in the MODAF meta-model with an emphasis on realizing MODAF views using modeling. A battlespace scenario is used to examine example MODAF views and consideration is given to ensuring consistency between views through modeling.

- To see an example of MODAF applied to a battlespace scenario
- Enable attendees to appreciate the issues surrounding the use of MODAF

- What is an architectural framework
- Role of the Unified Profile for DoDAF and MODAF
- The structure and content of MODAF
- Example of how to realize MODAF views
Pre-requisites
- An understanding of systems engineering principles and concerns
- Some understanding of UML is helpful, but not essential

- Those wanting to learn about MODAF in order to understand how to interpret and use MODAF views
Attendees Receive
- A bound copy of all course slides, including examples of all MODAF views taken from a battlespace scenario
- Laminates which detail each MODAF view and show how they are related
Course Format
Much of the course involves presentation of key principles and concepts. A battlespace scenario is introduced which allows illustration of all of the MODAF views and discussion of their use.

MODAF-103 If you want the experience of producing MODAF views but already have knowledge of UML, (3 day) will be of interest.
SysML-101 and SysML-102 If you want to learn about the related Systems Modeling Language, SysML, then courses SysML-101 and SysML-102 An Introduction to SysML (1 or 2 day versions) will be of interest.
