The Institution of Engineering & Technology  plays host to a number of professional networks and information related to professional activities. The systems engineering professional network exists to promote the application of systems engineering to any organisation and has a membership of the UK leaders in systems thinking.

The British Computer Society is the professional body for anyone working in an IT-related area and has many special interest groups in specific areas, such as requirements engineering.

The British Standards Institution is the UK body for national standards and is the official representation of the UK for international standards. A whole host of standards and standards-related information is available on-line as well as access to the many standards committees, that are hosted by the BSI.

The Object Management Group is the home of the UML standard. This is the place to download the source standards for the UML, SysML, OCL and so on.

The electronic government interoperability framework is the government document that describes the vision for interoperability between all government departments and their associated contractors. Amongst other things, the eGIF mandates the use of the UML for all data modelling.

The UK chapter of the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) promotes the use and application of systems engineering in industry. INCOSE UK holds two events each year to further their aims.
