An Introduction to Systems Engineering
Duration
Three to five days. Residential option available.
Prerequisites
None.
Outline
Based on version 3.1 of the INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook, this course introduces the main concepts of systems engineering.
Two days of theory cover concepts, systems, life cycles, modelling, processes and standards, in line with the INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook.
This is followed by a one to three day practical workshop applying the theory covered in days one and two to the development of a real system undertaken in the framework of a systems engineering process based on ISO 15288.
All attendees are enrolled in INCOSE and receive a copy of the INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook. The also receive a copy of 'SysML for Systems Engineering', written by the course tutors and published by the IET.
